The military is always looking for new and inventive ways to protect its troops. They've just developed new body armor for their female soldiers, which will protect them without inhibiting their motions.

Now the military is experimenting with a new fabric that is resistant to chemical and biological weapons. This breakthrough fabric is breathable and thin, meaning that it could potentially replace cumbersome, hot and impractical chemical gear currently issued to soldiers.

Women have been allowed to serve their country in the military for nearly 100 years, albeit typically in secretarial positions. By the 1970s, however, women were allowed to join the military as active duty service people.

Though the government spends billions trying to protect soldiers with gear designed to stop bullets and knives, this year they realized that their body armor had one fundamental problem: it was designed for men.
