Everyone loves a great design. Be it a favorite band, cartoon character or political statement, people love the idea of expressing themselves through their apparel. But be careful what you buy.

What’s Old is New Again with Custom Shirts

08/30/2012 - 3:50pm

Our memories are tied to the clothes we wear. An old concert t-shirt reminds us of a great performance. A college sweatshirt brings back memories of campus parties and big games. As shirts get worn and designs fade, these shirts become a piece of history, showing where we’ve been and how far we’ve come.

Perhaps that’s why vintage-inspired designs have made such a comeback in the modern marketplace. Customers seem to enjoy shirts that look lived in, even when they’re brand new.

This year a new principal wanted a fresh start for the school and its mascot. They started with a new slogan: Serious About Success. How do you combine a cool animal, an inspirational slogan and a caboose into a great mascot?

Each successful company has an image that’s easily recognizable. Disney has the Mickey ears, Apple has the nibbled fruit and Budweiser has the Clydesdale. These images are on t-shirts, technology items and any other product that the companies can think of.

Why are these images so important to companies? Because dynamic, iconic images sell brands and further advertising for companies willing to invest in them. Big businesses don’t have to be the only businesses that profit off of branding.
