Each successful company has an image that’s easily recognizable. Disney has the Mickey ears, Apple has the nibbled fruit and Budweiser has the Clydesdale. These images are on t-shirts, technology items and any other product that the companies can think of.

Why are these images so important to companies? Because dynamic, iconic images sell brands and further advertising for companies willing to invest in them. Big businesses don’t have to be the only businesses that profit off of branding.

Custom Designs Get Your Brews in More Hands

Flying Dog Ales founder George Stranahan credits a former neighbor for the striking designs on his bottles. Stranahan lived next door to gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson, known by some as the guy Johnny Depp played in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Thompson was never above having a few drinks and Stranahan’s brew must have hit the spot. Soon Thompson introduced him to British artist Ralph Steadman, who illustrated most of Thompson’s works. Soon Steadman was drawing eye catching designs for all Flying Dog products. Thompson even wrote an essay on ale for Stranahan to use in Flying Dog publicity.
